Desde 1911 would be inconceivable without the figures of María Juliana Azpíroz and Evaristo García, both from families with a long tradition in artisanal fishing, and their children, the fourth – and proud – generation of fishmongers and muleteers from the Maragatería region. After more than a decade at the helm of the family business, the García Azpíroz family has fulfilled their dream of opening Desde 1911, thus honoring the passion that their father, Evaristo García, always felt for restaurants.
Philosophy
Thanks to the immense work and evolution of these trades, Madrid has become the hub where the finest seafood from the various ports along the coast converges.
This process began with the long, fifteen-day journeys that the Maragato muleteers made to Madrid with their oxen and mules, and now allows us to find on our tables products caught less than twenty-four hours ago. Therefore, with the opening of Desde 1911, the dream of creating a fish and seafood restaurant in Madrid has been fulfilled, a restaurant whose menu is redesigned daily based on the best available seafood, thus defying all limits of space and time. This demonstrates that Madrid remains the best seaport on the Iberian Peninsula.
Space
Inspired by Nordic design in its layout and decor, the restaurant has three clearly differentiated spaces: the dining room, with views of the kitchen through a large window; the central courtyard, open and landscaped with lush deciduous trees, a source of light and a setting for appetizers and after-dinner conversation; and the private room.

LETTER
The Desde 1911 menu is the ultimate expression of the finest seafood of the day.
For this reason, it is reinvented and evolves daily, changing completely depending on the day’s catch freshly brought from our coasts and the best seasonal products.
Every day, the Desde 1911 team meets to decide the products and dishes to be enjoyed at the restaurant, offering a unique and unrepeatable gastronomic experience each day.
To enjoy this proposal, guests will find six starters, from which they can choose three, four, five, or six depending on the selected menu, a single fish as the main course—being the best of those that have arrived that day at Pescaderías Coruñesas—and the experience concludes with a selection of cheeses and desserts:

- Menu 6+1: €270
Meanwhile, the Desde 1911 wine cellar reflects distinction, uniqueness, and tradition through a wine list that pays tribute to the great national wineries that have accompanied Pescaderías Coruñesas throughout its history.
In the red wine section, one can find vertical tastings and older vintages from the cellar, ensuring traceability and the guarantee of no decanting.
In the international section, champagnes, white wines, and aged vintages are featured—essential elements in a concept like Desde 1911.

Since 1911, our restaurant has been dedicated to creating a haven in Madrid – Spain’s finest seaport and the most beautiful setting – offering the best fresh seafood of the day.
To ensure you enjoy the product at its best, we at Desde 1911 are committed to traditional artisanal techniques, with a special emphasis on the wood-fired oven, which preserves and enhances the natural qualities of the fresh fish and shellfish.
This is a tribute to the fishing tradition and the muleteers of the Maragatería region, allowing you to savor the finest ingredients from the sea every day, thanks to the experience and tradition of Pescaderías Coruñesas.
TEAM
With a team of 40 people, led in the dining room by Abel Valverde and in the kitchen by Diego Murciego, Since 1911 has offered a tailor-made experience in which excellence, craftsmanship, personalization, and enjoyment are the common thread of what happens in the dining room and in the kitchen.
PRIVATE 1911
With a capacity for 20 to 30 people, the Privado 1911 offers a bespoke dining experience in an intimate and exclusive setting overlooking the central garden of Desde 1911. Just as in the main restaurant dining room, in the private room, guests will enjoy a menu consisting of six starters (three, four, or five can be chosen depending on the selected menu), the best fish of the day as the main course, and dessert. Following the rhythm of the sea and the market, the menu details will be finalized the day before the reservation based on the best seasonal ingredients available.
